Expanded mesh is a type of sheet which has been cut and stretched to form a regular pattern (often diamond-shaped) of metal mesh-like material. It is commonly used for fences and grates, and as metallic lath to support plaster or stucco. It is commonly known as ‘Burfi Jali’ It is made from sheets of solid metals that all are slit and stretched with each stroke of the upper die, forming a raised diamond pattern.
